Trapezoid and parallelogram-shape ATR crystals in KRS-5, ZnSe and Ge
ATR (attenuated total reflectance) when used in conjunction with IR spectroscopy is a sampling method enabling the direct analysis of solid or liquid samples without the necessity for additional sample preparation steps. An IR beam is passed through an optical wave guide - in this case an ATR crystal - in such a manner that it is reflected at least once from the surface of the crystal that is in direct contact with the sample. The intensity of the reflected light depends on several known factors and enables conclusions to be drawn about the sample composition. We offer ATR crystals in Ge, KRS-5 and ZnSe.
