UV/VIS/IR cuvettes
Cuvettes are mostly used for optical analyses in UV/VIS spectroscopy or fluorometry. For absorption measurements cuvettes with two polished windows are sufficient whereas for fluorescence measurements cuvettes with four polished windows are needed - measurements are made at a right angle to the light beam in order to avoid any interference by the beam itself.
Further application areas for cuvettes are, for example, as resonators in dye lasers, as flow-through cells in tablet dissolution and flow cytometry or, in cylindrical form, for polarimetry.
